I have officially been a Sweet Adeline in the Lehigh Valley Chorus for over 28 years and grew up with Barbershop music in my house. My father has performed with The Lehigh Valley Harmonizers for over 45 years, and I was attending shows and competitions for as long as I can remember. I sang in choruses and musical theater throughout high school and college and needed to find a place to continue doing that once I graduated. I gave Sweet Adelines a try and decided it was just what I was looking for. I started out singing Lead for the chorus, but for many years now I have been enjoying the fun harmony of singing Baritone.
As Assistant Director, I help Marilyn out whenever she needs it. I run rehearsals when she isn’t there and direct performances if she can’t attend. I also help with choreography to visually enhance our performances. I feel that movement helps our singing and makes it more entertaining.
Being a member of LVC has helped me learn and grow both musically and personally. The ladies in the chorus are a very special group of women who support each other and share a love of music, performing, and having fun. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?
